Other details: Single seat in the front driver side. The car was disassembled for an engine and transmission rebuild. We believe all parts are accounted for (see pictures below). Top speed is over 250 MPH.

History
  • Extraordinary 1990 Mercedes-Benz C11-05 historic racecar driven by Formula 1 racecar champion driver, Michael Schumacher, in the world-renowned Le Mans classic championship competition.


  • The racecar is one of only five C11’s in the world built and designed by Mercedes-Benz and distinguished Swiss auto racing designer Peter Sauber.


  • The Sauber-Mercedes C-11’s were arguably the most successful racecars in the then popular Europe based Group C. The C-11’s captured eight victories and the overall Sports Car World Championship title (Constructors and drivers).


  • C-11 Chasses used groundbreaking compound materials composed of carbon fibers and turned 1990 into a highlight year for Sauber-Mercedes.


  • Group C Racing was the Sports Prototype class that ran from 1982 – 1993.

Terms of Sale

The vehicle is being sold as part of a liquidation of assets owned by CLR Associates which is part of the SEC receivership involving the Lancer Group Family of hedge funds. Receiver Marty Steinberg, of the law firm Hunton & Williams, is handling the sale. The sale is subject to approval by the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida presiding over the Lancer Group receivership. Full payment must be made with in 5 business days of the close of the auction.

Bidding Requirements
To bid on this auction, all bidders are required to become qualified by placing a deposit. The deposit of the winning bidder is automatically transferred to the seller at the end of the auction. If the winning bidder fails to perform on any auction, the entire BidDeposit will be forfeited to the seller.
