Bid4Assets offers you, as a buyer or seller on our Web site, a fun and easy way to contribute to the non-profit organization of your choice year-round either by auctioning off high-end items you no longer need or want or by buying items on Bid4Assets. Each time you participate in our Charitable Giving Program, Bid4Assets will contribute to your non-profit organization too.

Here are the simple ways that you can support your favorite charitable organization through Bid4Assets auctions:

Affinity Auctions:
buy items on Bid4Assets Web site and direct us to contribute to a non-profit organization of your choice at the close of an auction. Bid4Assets contributes at least 0.25% of the winning bid amount (up to $10,000 per auction) to your selected non-profit for the items bought. Click here for an Affinity Auction Example.

Straight Donation Auctions: sell high-end items at auction and donate 100% of the net proceeds to your favorite non-profit organization. Bid4Assets will also give at least 0.25% of the winning bid amount (up to $10,000 per auction) for the items sold to your chosen non-profit organization. Simply send us a copy of your donation confirmation receipt along with a letter indicating the Auction ID# and the winning bid amount and Bid4Assets will send the donation to your organization. Affinity Auction Example

Rhonda Reed is a regular participant in Bid4Assets auctions. One morning, she receives an auction alert from Bid4Assets, and is browsing the Web site when she notices a Golf Getaway Vacation listed for auction. Rhonda decides she desperately needs a vacation and practicing her golf game in Hilton Head is too enticing an opportunity to miss!

  1. Rhonda is already a registered user on Bid4Assets so she logs in to the Web site when the Golf Getaway auction is in progress.
  2. She actively bids on the auction and wins the vacation for $1400 in overtime!
  3. Bid4Assets emails both Rhonda and the Golf Getaway seller each other's contact information. In the email to Rhonda, Bid4Assets offers to contribute a percentage of the winning bid price to Rhonda's non-profit of choice-- all she has to do is select the organization.
  4. Rhonda finds this offer appealing and clicks on the link to the Non-Profit Organization List located on Bid4Assets Web site. She scans through the list quickly and selects WABC Public Television Station as her choice.
  5. She submits payment to the Golf Getaway seller within 3 to 5 days for the golf vacation won on Bid4Assets.
  6. After confirmation that Rhonda's payment is successful, Bid4Assets sends at least 0.25% of the $1400 winning bid price to WABC at the end of the month, along with all the other contributions designated for WABC that month.

Straight Donation Auction Example (tax-deductible)
John Jones, a Kennedy Center benefactor and long-time fundraiser for International Child Art Foundation ("ICAF"), has 2003 season concert tickets for the National Symphony Orchestra. He and his family will be unable to attend one of the NSO performances in June 2003; therefore, he has decided to auction off his tickets to the highest bidder on Bid4Assets and donate the proceeds entirely to International Child Art Foundation.

  1. John registers on the Bid4Assets Web site.
  2. He lists the four Friday night performance, Orchestra seat tickets in one auction.
  3. The auction occurs and the tickets are sold.
  4. Bid4Assets emails both John and the auction winner each other's contact information so the transfer of the symphony tickets can be arranged.
  5. The auction winner sends payment for the tickets to John Jones.
  6. Upon successful processing of the payment, John Jones sends the symphony tickets via USPS to the auction winner.
  7. John donates 100% of the net proceeds (gross proceeds less Bid4Assets success fee) to ICAF.
  8. Once John receives the tax receipt from ICAF, John mails a copy along of it along with a letter indicating the Auction ID# and the winning bid amount to Bid4Assets.
  9. After receipt of John's donation information, Bid4Assets sends a percentage (at least 0.25%) of the sale price of the NSO tickets to ICAF as a contribution.
