Humboldt
County and the property are located about 160 miles northeast
of Reno in the Humboldt River Valley, in the heart of the Great
Basin. This is a breathtaking area filled with mountains, plains,
lush canyons and criss-crossed by the Humboldt River. The county
boasts a friendly rural atmosphere and a high quality of life.
Tourism
is a large part of the County's economic base due to the large
numbers of visitors the gaming industry brings to the area and
the draw of the beautiful wide open spaces, historical sites,
and great fishing.
Winnemucca, known as the crossroads of the west, is the largest
city in the county and is a short 25 mile drive southwest of the
property. It is full of classic charm and the historic downtown
area is interspersed with delightful boutiques, restaurants, pubs
and hometown businesses that serve the community. Winnemucca is
a great jumping-off point for many types of outdoor recreation.
Nearby are fabulous hiking and biking trails, as well as miles
of ATV and off-road adventure trails. In town, there are over
1,000 hotel rooms, several diverse restaurants, casino gaming,
and plenty of other opportunities for fun.
