The properties lie in Northern Michigan near Macelona, Michigan and west of Gaylord, Michigan.  The subdivision is a heavily wooded subdivision with many houses built in the subdivision.  The lots are approximately 10 miles east-northeast of Macelona and 3.25 miles southeast of Alba, Michigan.  Some basic supplies and fuel can be found in Alba, however, greater shopping opportunities lie in Macelona or Gaylord to the east. 

The subdivision has a small lake, Lake Harold, within the subdivision boundaries and hosts a recreation center near the lake.  However, there is a much larger lake to the east, south of Gaylord, called Otsego Lake.  This lake has a State Park along its shores and offers opportunities for camping, fishing, and boating.  However, for maximum enjoyment of water sports and fishing, the northern part of Michigan is surrounded on west by Lake Michigan and on the east by Lake Huron, two of the Great Lakes.

Access to the properties is good, as Interstate Highway 75 runs through Gaylord and the subdivision can be accessed by State Highway 32 to State Highway 42 that runs into Alba.  There is a turnoff into the subdivision from State Highway 42.

DINING: Settings Restaurant is located on the golf course where friends and family meet to enjoy beautiful views and relaxed casual atmosphere in our two comfortable dining rooms. It's the destination for golfers in the summer and snowmobilers in the winter.

GOLF: Lakes of the North Golf Course open to the public is rated 'Top 3 Most Consistant Greens' in Michigan by the Golf Association of Michigan. They offer a scenic 18 hole, par 72 course that spans 7,000 yards. Combing well-manicured fairways, pristine tee boxes and immaculate greens, Lakes of the North Golf Course will challenge every club in your bag. HAROLD LAKE: Harold Lake is a Private Member Amenity featuring a Beach House, Restrooms/Changing area, Swimming and Beach area, Covered Pavilion, Picnic tables and Grills, Playground, Basketball Court, Sand Volleyball, and Docks.  Harold Lake is also a great spot for fishing. When in season, available for rental are Canoes, Rowboats, Paddleboats, Kayaks and Paddleboards. Boat Rentals, Games, Bathrooms, and Concessions available when beach house is open. 

PENCIL LAKE: Pencil Lake is a member exclusive amenity featuring a Beach House, Restrooms/Changing area, Picnic tables, Playground and Dock. Pencil Lake is another great spot for fishing.

DEER LAKE: Enjoy this quiet lake with family with picnic tables, fishing dock, and grills available. Boat rentals available at Clubhouse on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

WINTER SPORTS: Winter Sports area is a Private Member Amenity and is ideal for some outdoor winter fun with groomed Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoe trails and an outdoor Ice-Skating Rink.   Inside the Winter Sports building features a TV Lounge area, Ping Pong table and seasonal concessions.

Ice rink and trails are up and welcoming members, unfortunately the building will not be open. Please be sure to bring your own equipment.

CAMPERS VILLAGE: Campers Village hosts year-round camping for 160 campsites to be reserved exclusively by association members and their sponsored guests. Campers Village sites offer electrical hookup, a fire pit and picnic table on each site, two bathhouses, dumping station, storage, and trailer spotting.  Campers Village also features an enclosed pavilion with kitchen, three playgrounds, Mini Golf, Disc Golf, Baseball diamond, Basketball court, community fire pit and Wi-Fi Access. During the off season Campers Village will remain open year-round to members in good standing and their sponsored guests. While the outside water is off for the winter months, many of the members still enjoy this amenity during the colder time of the year. The campground office is closed for the winter season.

AIRPORT: Lakes of the North Community Airport is a public, general utility airport open year-round, located within Lakes of the North, adjacent to the Golf Course and Settings Restaurant, just 11 miles southwest of Gaylord.  The 4Y4 airport is equipped with a 4,212’ lighted paved runway, elevation 1,286’.
