Antrim County is located in Northwest lower Michigan. Bordered on the West by Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay and on the East by the Mackinaw State Forest, also referred to as the Jordan river valley.

The county is covered with a rolling terrain, with many lakes and rivers through out the area. Most notable of the lakes is Torch Lake, considered to be one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. This lake is on a chain of lakes that runs from
Bellaire, the county seat, to Elk Rapids. North of Bellaire is another chain of lakes that go from there through Central Lake and Ellsworth, with the largest of these being Intermediate Lake.

Mancelona, located in the Southeast corner of the county on US-131, is home to the annual White Pine Stampede. The county also has many fine golf courses, is a major ski resort area and is very beautiful during the fall color season.

Main Clubhouse This major facility is located near the center of the association on several acres of landscaped grounds. Membership services and information are available there. It is a one story structure of modern design and construction. This facility has a commercial kitchen, dining area, assembly room (capacity 180), game room, lounge area and an enclosed, heated swimming pool. Pool depth ranges from 3' to 9' with lockers and changing rooms provided for bathers. Many lounge chairs attract summer sun lovers to the sundeck adjacent to the pool. There is also a large carpeted lounge area and fireplace. A baby grand piano and large screened television are available. Table games, pinball machines and a pool table round off the fun in the game room. The grounds surrounding the Clubhouse contain tennis courts, a shuffleboard court and horseshoe pits.

The 18 holes of Deer Run Golf Course offer a unique challenge in a scenic setting. The front 9 features beautiful fairways, bunkers and large greens while the back 9, designed by architect William Newcomb, winds past the headwaters of the Manistee River. We are open seven days a week.
Sunday through Thursday, from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM, and from 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM, Friday and Saturday.

Settings Restaurant and Pro Tavern are located adjacent to the Golf Pro Shop, at 8151 Pineview Drive, one mile north of Mancelona Rd. We are here to serve the Lakes of the North property owners, their guests, and the general public.

We offer a full menu, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, seven days a week. The restaurant has daily specials for each meal, as well as a breakfast buffet and a lunch buffet on winter weekends. The Pro Tavern is open during the winter season with a pool table, electronic dart game, and a golf game.

Catering by our Settings Staff is available for every occasion or celebration, with several menu and price options to choose from. We will cater to your location in Lakes of the North, or your choice of the Club House or the restaurant facility.

Lake Harold

This beachhouse is located on Lake Harold, a 40 acre natural spring-fed lake. It is situated on several acres of landscaped grounds, which hosts an excellent sand beach and picnic area with tables, barbecue grills and pavilion. Adjoining the picnic area is a playground and basketball court.

There are row boats, canoes and paddleboats available for use. There is a dock and raft in the swimming area. The building is of similar design to other common buildings. Consessions and soda are available on the upper level, The lower level contains restrooms and changing rooms for bathers.

Pencil Lake

This facility is similar to the beachhouse at Harold Lake, but overlooks the 45 acre naturally spring-fed Pencil Lake. The lower level has restrooms and changing areas. The building is set on a hill in a heavily wooded area facing a sandy swimming beach. There is a floating "T" dock with row boats and canoes available and a raft has been placed in the swimming area. A boat launch is available for fishing enthusiasts who bring their own boats.

    Campers Village

    This is a modern camping area nestled in a fairly heavily wooded area. There is a small registration building and 160 camping sites with electricity, grey water crocks, fire pits and picnic tables available to each site. All sites have easy access by blacktop roads, and there are 2 modern bathhouses. Adjacent is a baseball diamond, basketball court and a well equipped playground. As a convenience, there is a storage area provided for campers and trailers, and an enclosed in pavilion with full kitchen for group gatherings and shelter.

    Winter Sports Area Clubhouse

    This facility is situated in heavily wooded rolling hills. The building is similar in design to the beachhouses. The upper level has a large open area with an inviting stone fireplace plus pingpong and other games. The lower level contains a concession, ski changing area and restrooms. This area serves as a center for ice skating and crosscountry skiing activities with groomed cross-country ski trails. During the summer this facility offers a lovely peaceful trail for walking.
