What is Identity Verification?

ID verification is required for sellers to confirm their identity. If you are selling property as an individual (private seller), you may use the online verification process that appears when you click SELL and log in. There is an interactive process that presents a series of top of mind questions utilizing relevant facts on the individual obtained by scanning billions of public records. This service is provided by a major third-party research company.

Why is Bid4Assets requiring Identity Verification?

Bid4Assets is committed to providing a secure environment for all of our customers. Seller ID Verify significantly decreases Internet fraud and our buyers are assured they are doing business with sellers who are who they say they are.

When do I go through the verification process?

You will be asked to go through the verification process online when you go to list a property. You will not be able to list without passing the verification process. If you are a private seller, and you do not pass the online verification process, you will need to submit verification forms offline. Click here for the offline verification form.

If you are selling property as a corporate entity or organization, you will be required to use the Corporate ID Verification forms offline. Click here to access these form. You may submit theses forms anytime before listing property.

How does the system work?

A major third-party research company uses data aggregators to query more than 1,000 databases, such as state motor-vehicle departments and marriage records. The process presents consumers with a series of personalized questions based on deep background data derived from a variety of these public information sources. The technology conducts sophisticated analytics to build a comprehensive knowledge profile and guides the consumer through an intuitive and interactive process until identity is confirmed.

Why does Identity Verification ask personal questions?

"Out of wallet" identity verification is the only way we can ensure sellers are who they say they are.

Is the information I provide secure?

Absolutely. Bid4Assets' secure 256 bit encryption technology ensures the safety of the information provided. Bid4Assets does not share any data with third parties and ensures that unauthorized parties cannot gain access to the data. Bid4Assets also does not store the questions and answers from the verification process.

I need to update the information I entered when I signed up with Bid4Assets. Will I need to go through Identity Verification again?

No. You make changes to the information you provided when you signed up in your My Account page through the My Profile link located on the left navigation bar. When you try to access you My Account page, you will be prompted to login and then will be able to review and change any information you provided wher you created your account.

What determines a pass/fail rating on the Identity Verification system?

Based on the number of correct answers you give, a passing or failing score will be assigned. Sellers must receive a passing score and have no flags for suspicious activity in the past to receive a passing rating.

I need to sign up as a corporation/business. Do I need to go through Identity Verification?

Yes. However, the Verid system can only verify individual sellers. If you are selling property as a corporate entity or organization, you will need to go through the verification process offline. Please click here to download the Bid4Assets Corporate Seller Authorization Form.

What happens if I do not pass the online Identity Verification process?

If you do not receive a passing score or another red flag is raised, your account will not be verified, or cleared to sell. After you complete the form, you will need to either fax it to us at 301-650-9194 or scan the completed document and email it to [email protected]. I live outside of the U.S. Can I still sell on Bid4Assets?

Because identification verification requires interested sellers to enter a valid U.S. public record information, non-U.S. citizens are not able to list items on the site.
